Working with regular supervision and direction, the Market Development Specialists primary role is to grow the profitable sales and market share of the vendor (Nortel) or category that he/she represents.
MDS will build a basic to moderate understanding of vendor and IM programs, product offerings and the Nortel's key competitive products. MDS will also serve as a liaison between Ingram Micro Sales and Nortel and leverage competitive information to the mutual advantage of both Nortel and IM.
REQUIREMENTS (020606)
Education: Bachelors degree or 2 years of external related experience or 1 years of IM related experience.
Experience: Demonstrates basic level knowledge, or similar experience outside of Ingram Micro, related to the above job description, including the following skills and abilities:
* Some knowledge of technology products and distribution channels relative to assigned product category.
* Knowledge of general computer applications (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel).
* Ability to persuade.
* Understand and communicate financial data.
* Sales planning, basic selling, strong writing skills, problem solving and strong verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate with diverse levels of associates internally and externally in an articulate and professional manner.
* Ability to practice discretion and understand appropriateness of communication and behavior.
* Demonstrate flexibility to change.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
