Be a part of one of the leading and most prestigious TV and Broadcast Media organizations in the Washington, DC area. This organization is building Interactive Online User Experiences to compliment TV programming consisting of games, puzzles, on-demand video, user-generated content, shareable widgets, blogs, forums, the works.
The Web Consultant will support the technical infrastructure and interactivity of tools and services for this initiative. These tools require various levels of programming and interactive application development.
Principal Responsibilities
• Serve as main technical contact for Interactive services team and projects
• Provide input on design and suggest appropriate technology for various features for websites
• Add interactive features using:
o Server-side programming with Python, Perl, shell scripts; XML/XSL/XSLT
o Client-side scripting with JavaScript/AJAX; HTML
• Perform web server and web application software configuration and performance reporting
• Perform design and development
• Assist in the creation of administrative utilities within content management tools
• Assist in the planning and optimization of the system architecture including network, servers and server-based software.
Requested
2+ years of Zope experience, preferably in a LAMP environment with some / any of the following:
• Zope 3
• Plone
• Linux / Unix
• Apache Web Server
• MySQL
• Python
• PHP
• XML / XSL / XSLT
• Other Open Source content tools
Desired:
• Django
• Drupal
• thePlatform
• Familiarity with online video technologies and understanding of social networking tools
