We’re looking for a digital-savvy communications professional who can create new content and transform existing material to meet customer and business needs. You must have a proven track record of producing and analysing portable, exportable content that lends itself to the multitude of channels and devices that our customers use every day.
You will be based at our London office (Richmond-upon-Thames) , reporting to the EU Digital Content Lead and focus on the UK market.
Main tasks:
•To ensure that any content produced for the UK market is, or can be adapted or transformed to be, suitable for all channels, including Web, Social Media, Mobile and Email
•To ensure content produced for www.ebay.co.uk is maintained to a high quality and kept up to date
•To apply SEO principles to content to ensure the French site has a high natural search ranking
•Review Key Performance Indicators for UK content (findability, engagement and usage metrics) and use this information to make better decisions
•Review and help produce video content for use on the UK site and with Customer Support
•Work with content strategists, customer support content managers and supervisors, business managers and marketing managers to ensure there is a holistic, end-end approach to producing customer communications
•Maintain and update the UK style guide, as well as provide training on its use to key stakeholders and content producers (internal and external)
•Localise content from US English to UK English, ensuring the preservation of a consistent brand voice and identity throughout the ebay.co.uk site
•Ensure all content produced for ebay.co.uk complies with brand and tone of voice guidelines
•Apply best practices to ensure that content is produced to meet business needs and achieve business goals
•Develop a glossary and create glossary terms for consistent translation between US English and UK English
•Use web-based tools to create and manage content through the full content lifecycle
Occasional tasks:
•Contribute to EU-wide or global projects, representing the UK user
•European (Zurich, Berlin) and US business travel
Skills and attributes required:
•Fluent English (native) including impeccable grammar, punctuation and spelling essential
•Broad knowledge of the wider digital market, and customer trends
•Good working knowledge of Quality management processes
•Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organization, including senior executives
•Ability to work independently and proactively contribute to the wider European team
•Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
•Must be able to work collaboratively, show respect for others and their opinions, and be approachable and collaborative
•Must be flexible, and able to adapt to the various styles of co-workers as well as to changing deadlines
•Should possess strong customer focus
•The ability to work with remote members of the team, and other teams, in other geographical locations
•Must be willing to take ownership and make sure things get done
•Excellent time management skills
•Able to manage own workload and prioritize accordingly
Required Experience:
•Degree or equivalent in a relevant field: journalism, languages, communications, multimedia or marketing
•Must have proven track record in producing and managing digital content
•Using Content Management Systems
•Using and interpreting web analytics
•Experience working across multiple geographies ideal
•Experience of content management, proof reading and editing digital content
