Job Description:
The objective of Oracle's JD Edward's EnterpriseOne Information Development department is to develop informational content that will allow EnterpriseOne customers to install and implement EnterpriseOne software quickly and efficiently. The group has a highly developed spirit of teamwork both inside and outside the department and strives to meet department and corporate goals. The EnterpriseOne Information Development department collaborates with several other departments, including software development, product strategy, customer support, Oracle's Partner Network and Oracle University. The technical writers in this department are information engineers, crafting several types of information solutions. The writers are constantly evaluating innovative ways to deliver technical documentation as well as training. The experienced writers are product experts and apply their subject matter expertise company-wide in support of product development, marketing strategy and customer support. This department is integral to improving and maintaining our customers' ownership experience, and providing relevant training to our expanding partner base.

Brief Description:

Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.

Detailed Description:

As a member of the technical writing division, you will write, review and produce single books or individual chapters, appendices, etc. of product user documentation and/or courseware. Obtain data and information from the appropriate source e.g. technical staff and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Job Requirements:

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.

Several software products are currently used in this department, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Visio), Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Prospective candidates must be able to:

.Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, and have at least twelve months recent experience with an .xml editor
.Show strong written and oral communication skills in either U.S. English or British English
.Understand and present technical concepts clearly and effectively to audiences with varying levels of skill and experience .Communicate a working knowledge of style guidelines, processes and procedures associated with software project deliverables
.Relate previous experiences as examples of working both independently and as part of a team
