Teradata Information Engineering is seeking a senior technical writer to join our team of talented information developers. The new team member will write and edit content for hardware and software documentation developed in a component content management system (CCMS). The information is published in a variety of forms and formats, including end-user guides, internal technical support documents, and online help. Candidates must be able to rapidly develop breadth of expertise in the hardware and software products that make up the Teradata data warehousing environment.

Job tasks will include:

.Develop Teradata product expertise by interviewing subject matter experts, performing technical research, and participating in hands-on testing and validation.
.Collaborate with team members to implement an information architecture that maximizes content reuse and consistency across products
.Develop expertise in DITA-based component content management system (Astoria Software) and content development tool (XMetaL).
.Practice a prescribed minimalist writing style.
.Adhere to best practices for using the Teradata CCMS and associated tools.

Required qualifications:

.Bachelor's degree, first degree, or equivalent experience in Technical Communications.
.Minimum 4 years as technical writer for complex systems.

Preferred qualifications:

.Proficiency in DITA and XML editor.
.Experience in a single-sourcing environment using structured writing techniques.

Responsibilities:

.Work in a team of highly motivated peers
.Document Magnolia CMS API, tag libraries, UI, tasks, concepts and procedures.
.Maintain and edit community-contributed content on the wiki. Ensure that first impression of content is always fresh and reliable.
.Write whitepapers and use cases on content management topics.

.Use state-of-the-art development tools like Jira, SVN/Git, Maven 2, Hudson etc.
