Job Description:
You have been working with (X)HTML and CSS for anywhere from 1-4 years. You prefer front end development because you're creative and visual and have a good eye for design. You write standards-compliant / semantic (X)HTML and CSS without Googling the syntax or using WYSIWYG editors.

You understand the difference between standards mode and quirks mode. You know what the box model hack is and what versions of IE it works for. You may love Firebug because it saves your life or you are so good you don't need it. You can use Gimp, Fireworks or Photoshop to cut up images and are handy with designing an icon or two in a pinch.

You are not uncomfortable working in the context of a complex Java web application even if you don't understand its intricacies. You won't get scared off by scripting markup like Velocity or JQuery showing up in the code here and there.

You are a self starter who loves working with technology and you stay up late putting the finishing touches on your code. You don't need to be told what to do to see what needs to get done. The Senior Developer is responsible for providing high-quality JahiApps and core development for the Jahia software dedicated to our customers around the world. This person will also work on other programming and documentation projects as required. The Senior Developer may also deliver effective technical customer support to our rapidly growing customer base, delivering solutions to technical experts from our customers and partners organization, while also supporting a wide range of technologies.

Function:

.Provide high-quality code for our core Content Composite Platform and our JahiApps.
.In this position you will work closely with the Product and the R&D teams to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems. Your typical co-worker may be a developer, a product manager or a system integrator.
.The successful Candidate will have to demonstrate ability to understand and communicate technical information, analyze and solve complex problems and strong team skills.
.Other responsibilities include training, and to occasionally work with the professional Services team as an advisor for customer delivery projects.

More detailed tasks:

.Take ownership of assigned tasks ensuring delivery as per the SCRUM (agile) methodology
.Define action plans to reach successful "story" closure and ensure teamates are completely satisfied with your code output.
.Report design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to peers.
.Ensure product fixes are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
.Help the continual review of business processes and procedures to ensure the goal of persistently improving product - and to a lesser extend customer service.
.Participate in the software release of hotfixes and Service Packs.
.Maintain documentation of new and existing software interfaces and API, incorporating changes as needed.

Skills:

.5 years (minimum) of J2EE development experience
.Strong knowledge in Java/JSP/GWT and most mature J2EE Open Source Frameworks
.Strong knowledge in technical problem solving and software development,
.Desirable: Strong knowledge of Content Management Systems
.Desirable: Strong knowledge of Enterprise Application Server such as IBM Websphere, Oracle Weblogic or JBoss

Personal profile:

.Candidate must be comfortable working distantly with an international team and with customers spread out throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia
.English fluency is necessary
