Manage all web content and projects related to the website by leading and setting goals for the writing, editing, and proofreading of new content and the training, oversight, and guidance of college web content contributors in web-communications standards and technical tools. Lead key AAP and department staff and faculty in CommonSpot (CMS), department, and unit site development, and ongoing maintenance planning. Develop and continually refresh training materials. Regularly consult with students, staff, and faculty to evaluate and improve upon best practices. Ensure that all documents and images meet established content standards and work with outsourced developers to assess and meet any technical challenges in displaying content. Source, develop, organize, and archive a wide range of multimedia items. Perform regular site-wide verification of content, respond to user feedback, and manage requests for site design, modifications, or content changes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art and Planning - with about 500 undergraduates and 200 graduate students - includes Cornell in Rome, a center in New York City, and numerous teaching, research, and outreach efforts around the world. In addition to undergraduate studies in art, architecture and urban studies/city and regional planning, AAP offers academic programs in real estate, historic preservation planning, and international studies in planning.&lt;br /&gt;Qualifications&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bachelor's degree in English, literature, creative writing, journalism, interactive media, web design, or related publications field, with two to four years experience in professional information management, electronic/web publishing or web editing, proven creativity, and a strong, sense of clean, clear, and elegant design-or equivalent combination of education and experience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;o Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced environment. Resourceful through technology, research skills, and relationship building among several departments and organizations to resolve problems and initiate enhancements. Experience writing and editing for print and electronic communications is essential.&lt;br /&gt;o Highly developed customer relations and customer service skills are required. Experience responding sensitively and diplomatically to client needs is necessary. High degree of attention to detail.&lt;br /&gt;o Experience working with highly accessible and usable websites. Knowledge of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets. Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia especially as it relates to web design. Able to become expert user of PaperThin's CommonSpot content management system to design and use templates and components to deploy website designs.&lt;br /&gt;Preferred:&lt;br /&gt;o Experience creating and editing graphics using Photoshop. Experience building and/or maintaining websites using Dreamweaver. Experience working with ColdFusion and JavaScript. Experience with Flash.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Position will be posted until August 13, 2008.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No relocation assistance is provided for this position.
