We are growing our San Francisco team and on the search for a web ninja who lives and breathes web technologies. The Javascript/HTML5 Developer will be responsible for the development of UrtheCast's front-end mapping controls and mobile implementation for both mapping and video.

Desired Skills & Experience

You will have:
- 3+ years of web development and mobile web application development
- Extensive experience with pure Javascript/jQuery, HTML5 and Node.js
- Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs (like Google Maps, Twitter, Facebook, etc)
- Knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design and cross-browser compatibility
- Interest and flexibility in fulfilling multiple roles
- Enthusiasm for innovation in the tech industry

Bonus points for:
- College education in Computer Science/Engineering or related

Job Description:
Mindjet Connect is a web application for collaborative work management. The Action component of the application allows users to delegate, track, and prioritize tasks. We aspire to make the tool that all knowledge workers across every industry will use to get their own tasks done as well as keep track of the tasks they've assigned to others. To do this, we need more smart people, and that's where you come in.

As part of our team, you'll be pair programming almost exclusively while working on the full application stack. For the web application, we have a JavaScript heavy front-end where you'll be doing plenty of HTML and CSS, Ruby (not on rails) on the server side where you'll be building out our API, and PostgreSQL and Redis for datastores where you'll be optimizing queries. For iOS and Android, we're building a cross-platform HTML5/JavaScript application that is wrapped with PhoneGap. As part of a rotating pair, you'll get the chance to be both student and mentor as different features will take you through the layers of the architecture.

Our flavor of agile is heavily based on Extreme Programming. We really do work in pairs; write our tests before implementing code; have daily standups, weekly iteration meetings, weekly releases, and weekly retrospectives; work at a sustainable pace; do acceptance testing with our product manager; and shun code ownership. We've found that following these practices maximizes our time for doing what we love: writing software.

Job Description:
You have been working with (X)HTML and CSS for anywhere from 1-4 years. You prefer front end development because you're creative and visual and have a good eye for design. You write standards-compliant / semantic (X)HTML and CSS without Googling the syntax or using WYSIWYG editors.

You understand the difference between standards mode and quirks mode. You know what the box model hack is and what versions of IE it works for. You may love Firebug because it saves your life or you are so good you don't need it. You can use Gimp, Fireworks or Photoshop to cut up images and are handy with designing an icon or two in a pinch.

You are not uncomfortable working in the context of a complex Java web application even if you don't understand its intricacies. You won't get scared off by scripting markup like Velocity or JQuery showing up in the code here and there.

You are a self starter who loves working with technology and you stay up late putting the finishing touches on your code. You don't need to be told what to do to see what needs to get done.
